Real Madrid vs Osasuna 7-1

Karim Benzema grabbed a second-half brace, while Pepe got on the scoresheet and Gonzalo Higuain scored the goal of the game. Ibrahima got the early goal for Osasuna as they very briefly drew level in the first half.

Ronaldo opened the scoring with a header after 22 minutes. Di Maria whipped in a deep cross from the left and the Portuguese only had to help it on as it flashed by goalkeeper Fernandez.

Seven minutes later Osasuna were level though and the goal came after Real were temporarily down to 10 men as Pepe received treatment for an injury. Alvaro Arbeloa fouled Nino on the edge of the area and the quick-thinking Javad Nekounam played an early square ball to Ibrahima, who slotted through the legs of Iker Casillas.

It took Madrid just three minutes to take back the lead and again it was a goal scored after a lovely cross in a similar position from Di Maria. His ball was this time met by Pepe, who headed back across goal and into the far corner.

Real extended their lead five minutes before half-time and it was wonderfully worked. Mesut Ozil played the ball to Di Maria on the edge of the box, he slipped in a disguised pass for Higuain who cut inside and whipped a shot right into the far corner.

After 55 minutes the game was all over. The youngster Eneko Satrustegui brought down Ozil in the box, picking up his second yellow and allowing Ronaldo to convert form the spot.

Two minutes later Ronaldo completed his hat-trick as he leapt to put an excellent header into the top corner, making it 17 goals already this season for the Portuguese.

Benzema then got in on the act after being granted acres of space in the box. He had time to control the cross and his effort flew off the goalkeeper and into the roof of the net.

The Frenchman grabbed his second and Real's seventh 10 minutes from the end with a fine finish. Arbeloa's ball got caught slightly under his legs, but he still managed to slap it with his left foot into the top corner from 12 yards to complete the rout.

Random Moments of Perplexity and Ambiguity

Sahin made his debut and he did good for his first game.

The goal we conceded was not fair.I'm sure Iker would agree.

Ronaldo grabbed his fourth hat-trick of the season.

Real played at 12h for the fourth time in their history to maximise the exposure of Spanish football in Asia. It paid off ,no doubt, as 60 million Chinese viewers tuned in to see the game at the Santiago Bernabéu.
